Attack of the Golf Bros: Tour Day 5 at Monorama Fest
After a solid night’s rest in Ukiah, I hit the road by 11 a.m., rolling through San Francisco and into Winter’s Tavern for MonoRama Fest 2025, just in time as The Slow Poisoner wrapped his set.
I met up with Arthur and Dylan, and while we had a bit of time to kill, I wandered down to the Pacifica Pier and its charming neighborhood. Perfect weather, ocean breeze, and soaking up some sunshine in the gold pants Lisanna gave me.
When my set came around, it went smoothly — but honestly, the real highlight was the camaraderie with other one-man bands. It felt like a backstage convention, all of us geeking out over our setups. Edgar, the organizer, was running sound for both stages — indoor and outdoor — all himself! I tried to help him out by running sound for Arthur using my gear, just to give him a break.
Then things got weird. A group of identically dressed young men started hanging in the back room near the pool table… and before long, it was wall-to-wall Caddyshack clones. Cue the Attack of the Golf Bros. I’ve got video evidence below if anyone doubts me.
Dylan, Arthur, and I capped the night eating, drinking, and trash-talking — celebrating the simple magic of making it this far to such a one-of-a-kind festival hosted by Winter’s Tavern in Pacifica, CA.
I even had the chance to keep one of my favorite running pranks going on the ska band Mister Blank, whose members I know personally. The video below pretty much says it all.
Afterwards, I headed to Oakland for a much-needed Airbnb recharge before tomorrow’s show in Red Bluff at Downtown Alehouse. At the moment, I’m parked at a Starbucks, caffeinating and enjoying the sweet relief of air conditioning — until I’m back in more familiar territory and resources.
