For the last year or so I’ve been working on several new songs in my home studio. The process starts with me on an acoustic or electric with a looper pedal just working out a basic rhythm and melody. Then I write out the guitar tabs, determine a basic arrangement, and then move to ProTools to start layering. I use Maschine Mikro to create beat ideas and generally within a week or so I get a demo like this. Then I’ll take these concepts to my main band, Herb & Jellyfish and we will see how they interpret the concept. Sometimes the song won’t make it into their roster so then I’ll spend more time at home practicing my mixing & mastering skills with the intention of releasing them through the Polybanderous name on Distrokid. A singer/songwriter, composer, arranger, producer, designer, software developer, handyman, and multi-instrumentalist with 20 years of experience in live performance, studio recording, graphic design, band management, software development & testing, and production. Over the years, I’ve toured nationally, performed locally at notable venues like The Showbox, El Corazon, The Crocodile, Neumos, Barboza, The Substation, The Funhouse, and CenturyLink Field (for the Seahawks game day opener), and have been featured on the television series Band In Seattle. I’ve also worked for 19 years as a C# software engineer & tester for Microsoft, Adobe, Real Networks, UPS (iShip), and several other smaller companies.
