Hallelujah - Out Now
Hallelujah version 2 is out now — a song about inherited faith and the quiet violence of conformity. It’s the kind of thing you grow up surrounded by without realizing the weight of it until much later: the guilt dressed up as salvation, the fear wrapped in reverence, the rituals nobody questions because questioning them is the first sin.
Like the rest of Burden of Excess, this one was written, performed, and produced by yours truly — recorded at Earwig Studio with Don Farwell behind the board. And on December 10th, Andreas Laursen of Seattle’s Fast Nasties stepped into the studio to carve out lead guitar parts and a wicked solo that fits the song perfectly. His playing adds a second voice to the track — equal parts tension, smoke, and revelation — and fueled by the Lagavulin 16 we shared in-studio.
If you’re curious, you can listen to Hallelujah below — and if you feel like supporting an independent, famously-unknown, “tech-dad” weirdo of a musician, buy the track or album on Bandcamp below.
